Once Upon a Rainy Day...

Dreary and delightful, the long and lolly-gagging type. The kind where you try to settle in before the kids can't settle down. The kind of day you don't go out to check the mail, but rather stay in and turn up good music...Like "Father Abraham" and "Onward Christian Soldiers".

Once upon this rainy day, we pulled out the watercolors, smocks, and multiple brushes.
Paint Mixing: Sign of a True Artist.

Finished Masterpiece.

Next up: Fort building. Innovation at its best.
Who knew an easel, quilt, and a string
of Christmas lights could brighten up the lives of these boys?!

Disclaimer: Of course, these sorts of days have potential to  mess up the house, throw routine out the window, and turn average children into carb and sugar loading children.
They can keep Mommy in her PJ's & turn her into a coffee drinking fool.
But, they are FUN! They make memories. They build relationships.
They teach us the joy of the Lord not just on the sunny days.
They help us practice gratefulness to Him in the everyday.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" Phil. 4:4
"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

  1. Amen! I shall have to copy a page out of your mommy handbook, friend! Give the boys a squeeze from me!

    1. Squeezing done. Yes...I'm sure y'all could pull off a magnificent painting/fort building day...until then, enjoy your beach! :)

  2. Looks like one of the best days ever....
